Taxi drivers can ask hundreds of Yuan's to take passengers to Tanggu or Tianjin. At Tanggu Railway Station and Tianjin Railway Station are official taxicab ranks. Official taxi from Tanggu Station to Xingang port should be around 20 Yuan / 10 minutes driving. From Xingang port to the Tianjin Railway Station would be around 120 Yuan. If people approach you on the street to bring you to their taxi then you have a good chance to be ripped off. Best is to walk to the official taxi rank. English signs will show the direction to it. Sometimes it can happen there are too little taxidrivers or they don't want to use the meter (at the port or perhaps Tanggu Railway Station). Try then to negotiate the best price.
Beijing South Railway Station
Beijing South Railway Station is the largest railway station of China. Since October 2009 it is possible to take the metro (line 4) to downtown Beijing. There is also a large taxicab rank in Beijing South Railway Station.
