Beijing Far East International Youth Hostel						China travel
The first 3 nights of our vacation in 2004, we stayed in the Beijing Far East International Youth Hostel. This hostel is situated in a preserved and protected Hutong area. I had booked online a quad family room. However this room was not in the hostel but in the **Far East hotel opposite of the hostel. The hotel is just a simple modern building with parking lot and iron fence around it. Our quad room were 2 connected rooms with a private bathroom. Room looked like a hotel room but we did not find it that clean. The rate in 2007 for a quad suite is 470 Yuan. Cheapest bed is in the basement of the hostel: 45 Yuan. A standard twin room is 240-280 Yuan. In the basement in the hotel is a cosy spacious bar with 3 internet computers, books and widescreen television. The travel desk inside the hotel offers cheap trips to attractions and shows in Beijing. To Tiananmen Square is only 10-15 minutes walking.
