Pudong International Airport Pudong Airport is the main airport of Shanghai. It opened in 1999 and is 30 km from downtown Shanghai. Allmost all international flights will go/leave from Pudong Airport. terminals There are two terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Three long corridors connect the terminals with each other. Buses leave every 10 minutes from one terminal to the other. Journey is about 5 minutes. Maglev train The Maglev Train is a bullet train running between the airport and Longyang Road metro station in Shanghai Pudong New Area. At Longyang Road metro station passengers can change to metro line 2. A single/return ticket cost 50/80 Yuan. A VIP ticket is 100/160 Yuan. The journey takes 8 minutes. Distance is 30km. Interval 15/20 minutes. Operating hours of the train: Longyang Road Station: First train: 6.45, Last train: 21.40 Pudong Airport Station: First train: 7.02, Last train: 21.42 The maximum speed varies. Normal speed is 300km/hr. The highest speed is 430km/hour and is reached between 9.00-10.45 and 13.00-16.45 taxi A taxi to Shanghai downtown is about 150 Yuan. The journey will take about 50 minutes. airport bus Cheapest transportation to the city is with the Pudong airport shuttle bus. There are 10 lines. The airport bus or taxi is also the best connection with Hongqiao airport. |
Hongqiao International Airport Hongqiao International Airport is used mainly for domestic flights. It has international flights to Tokyo and Seoul. Distance to downtown is 13km and to Pudong Airport 40km. bus, taxi & metro Transportation to Shanghai city is by taxi or airport shuttle bus. Taxi is about 45 Yuan and takes 30 minutes to the center. Shuttle buses to Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing are in the No.2 parking lot close to terminal B. There is no metro station yet at Hongqiao airport. A new metro line will connect Hongqiao airport in May 2010 just before the Shanghai World Expo 2010 starts. |
