    There are more than 1000 bus lines in Shanghai.
    As everywhere in China, buses are the cheapest form of transportation but very crowded. A ticket would cost 1 Yuan for a journey less than 13 km. Air-conditioning buses ask 2 Yuan.

    long distance bus
    In 2005 Asia’s largest long distance bus station has been opened in Shanghai. In the waiting lounge can seat 3000 passengers. Location is around the north square of Shanghai Railway Station in Zhabei District.

    Buses to Beijing and Suzhou depart from Shanghai Hengfeng Long Distance Bus Station. Address is 270, Hengfeng Road.

  • Departures to Beijing: 8:00, 18:00, 19:00, 19:30 A seat is 230 Yuan and a bed 285 Yuan.
  • Departures to Suzhou: between 7.20 and 18.30. About every half an hour a bus is leaving. Fare is 26-30 Yuan.
  • Departures to Ningbo: between 6.30 -19.00. About every half an hour the bus is leaving. Fare is 84-97 Yuan
  • Departures to Wuxi: between 6.40 and 18.35. About 25 buses are leaving daily.
