- Shenzhen attractions
Shenzhen has grown in less than 50 years from a small village to one of the largest cities in China.
It's location is close to Hong Kong and
Guangzhou.
Shenzhen has not historical sights but several themeparks as tourist attraction.
- Window of the World
Window of the World is the largest themepark in Shenzhen.
It has reproductions of many famous tourist attractions in the world.
Some of them are really big such a Eiffel Tower (110m high!) and the Niagara Waterfalls (see picture).
A monorail is running through the park (price not included) along the reproductions. You can get in/out at several stations.
The park also has indoor skiing and some shows. The main show is in an outdoor theatre with a few thousand seats.
But we didn't watch it because we arrived at noon and didn't want to wait till the evening when the show started.
- location & prices
We took metro line 1 to Shijiezhichuang Station. It's a ride of about 30 minutes from Shenzhen downtown.
Shijiezhichuang metro station is directly at the square of the themepark.
Admission for adults was 120 Yuan in July 2009. Seniors and children till 1.40m pay half price. Small children are free.
It can be handy to bring a small umbrella or clothes with you if you spent the whole day in the park.
During our visit in July 2009 it rained hard for 20 minutes.
Also the temperature was hot. I wished at that moment i had taken a clean shirt with me.
