Chengdu, Renmin Park						Home
From all parks, Renmin Park is the most in the center of Chengdu. It is within walking distance from Tianfu Square. Another name for Renmin is People's Park. There is a pool where you can hire electric and row boats. Younger children can go the funfair (called 'Kids Paradise'). Wooden signs in Chinese and English give you directions to the two tea houses, the lake, toilets or park veranda. We visited the Renmin Park in August 2007, in the early afternoon. At two or three places near each other was some loud karoke-radio singing so we went to the tea house near the lake. After drinking tea and playing cards, we also hired a rowing boat. With 2 small peddles this was really fun.
