Chengdu, River Viewing Park						Home
River Viewing Park (in Chinese called 'Wangjianglou Park')is located on the banks of the Jinjiang River. Following the river from the Traffic Hotel, you would be there within one hour walk. The Sichuan University is nearby the park. River Viewing Park was built during the Qing dynasty in memory of the famous female poet, Xue Tao. She lived in the Tang Dynasty. We visited the park in August 2007. It had rained that day and maybe therefore there were not many visitors. Inside are statues and more than 100 kinds of bamboo. (favourite plant of Xue Tao). A small electric bus drives through the park. Children often go to the pool with hundreds of large goldfishes.
