Tibet Hotel Chengdu
When our neighbours asked my daughter what she liked most in China, she answered "the Tibet Hotel".
We had stayed in this hotel for 10 nights and liked it very much.
The hotel rooms are spacious: i estimate 28 square meters for the bedroom and another 12 metres for the bathroom.
Our bedroom had 2 large beds, air-conditioning, a sofa, television with HBO movie-channel (suitable for children) broadband internet connection,
glass workdesk and a large bathroom with separate bath, shower and toilet. The rooms have a Tibet atmosphere.
The Tibet hotel has 2 Chinese restaurants.
One one the ground floor behind the lounge and the other one one the first floor next to the breakfast room.
The breakfast room is large but not crowded and with very comfortable chairs and tables and several buffets to choose from.
Waitresses come often to your table to refill your cups. Staff is friendly and helpfull.
Also on the 1st floor is the bowling alley.
We often came here to play an hour before we went to town to have dinner.
The room rate in 2007 was 518 Yuan for a deluxe standard room inclusive Chinese/Western breakfast.
In 2009 the rates were increased. Also the hotel can not be booked with most hotel providers.
The website of the Tibet Hotel looks okay but you can't book a room through their website or check prices.
You have to call them or email them to some strange email address.
Location of the hotel is not downtown. It's between Wenshu monastery and the central railway station.
With the taxi its about 10-15 minutes to the main shopping streets.
