Foshan
Foshan is a large city in Guangdong Province in China close to Guangzhou. It administers 5 districts (Chancheng, Shunde, San-shui, Nanhai and Gaoming). Total population is 5.4 million people. Urban population is 1.2 million.
airport
Foshan Airport was closed in 2002 but reopened late 2009. The small airport of Foshan has flights only to Beijing Nanyuan Airport and Wuxi. There is a shuttle bus service between the airport and Southern Airlines Hotel in Foshan centre. A taxi to downtown cost about 25 Yuan.
Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou is nearby. Shuttle buses from Kuiqi West Road, Chancheng, Foshan are running to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. There are allmost 40 buses daily. First bus leaves 05.00; last bus to the airport is 21.00. Travel time is 90 minutes. Fare is 32 Yuan.

Distance from Foshan Railway Station to Guangzhou Railway Station is 21km; to Guangzhou East is 30km. Fare for a hard seat ticket is about 10 Yuan. Trains to Hong Kong: take the train to Guangzhou East and then the through train to Hung Hom Railway Station in Hong Kong.

Foshan Bus Station is at Fenjiang Zhong Road in Chancheng District. Buses to Guangzhou, Dongguan, Zhuhai, Shenzhen and to many cities within and outside Guangdong Province.

Foshan Hi-tech Industries Development Zone is an important industrial area and consist of several zones. The main industries are electrical appliance and tool manufacturing, furniture, electronics, information technology, medicine, ceramics and plastic products. Through Foshan New Port the products of the zone can be shipped easily to Guangzhou, Hongkong and other cities in the Pearl River Delta.
