    Guangzhou getting around

  • Guangzhou train
    The train from Hong Kong to/from Guangzhou takes less than 2 hours.
    - Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation
    - departure is from Hung Hom (Hong Kong)
    - arrival is in Guangzhou East

    There are 2 train stations in Guangzhou; the old one in the center and a newer station in East-Guangzhou.

  • From both stations are trains departing to Beijing ,Shanghai and other main cities.
    There are 12 pairs of through trains running daily between Hung Hom Station (Hong Kong) and Guangzhou East. Single Journey Ticket Fare is between 190-230 HKDollar. Tickets can be bought from most hotels and the CITS office in Guangzhou.

  • Guangzhou airport
    Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is 28 km north of Guangzhou. It is one of the largest airports in China with domestic and international flights.
    The Airport Express Bus is the major transportation way to/from the airport. There are 4 bus lines. Busline 1 has a service from the airport to the CAAC Ticket Center at the train station (16 Yuan, 45 minutes) First bus is at 7.00, last bus departs when the the last flight has arrived. Bus line4 goes along Guangyuan Bus Station, Huanan Technology University and Dongpu Bus Station.
    Taxi fare from the airport to the train station is about 95 Yuan, exclusive bridge/road toll.

  • Guangzhou Trade Fair
    There are two super large exhibition complexes in Guangzhou: the Pazhou Complex and the Liuhua Complex. The Pazhou is the largest. The Liuhua Complex is in the center of the city near the train station. Official website is: 21CantonFair

    Chinese Export Commodities Fair, called the Canton Fair, is held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and is China's largest trade fair. Trade days are Apr.15-30 and Oct.15-30.
    Besides the famous Canton Fair, many other large-scale exhibitions are held in both complexes. Pay attention that hotel rates can increase during the fairs up to 3 times of the usual price.
