    Lanzhou is the capital of Gansu Province in the northwest of China. The city is an industrial center and important transportation hub. Lanzhou is the center of China's atomic energy industry. The population is 3.2 million people. Distance to Lanzhou is 700 km.

    The main train station is in the southern part of Lanzhou. Express trains run to Xining(4h), Yumen, Zhangye and Golmud(20h). Almost daily trains passing the city to Zhengzhou(12h), Xian(17h), Hohhot(18h), Shanghai (24 hours), Beijing(28h) and Urumqi(35h).
